2024 - 2026 DredginG Project
2024 - 2026 DredginG Project
While property owners have indicated a willingness to fund a portion of this project through an increased special charge, they are not the only beneficiaries of a clean and usable lake. In 2022, there were 14,570 paid entrances to Fisher Park.
We are pursuing all avenues to secure funding for the project, including grant applications. Additionally, as we move through the project, we hope to gain the support of Racine County and the town of Burlington through bonding authority and financial support. Splitting the cost of such a significant project equitably can be challenging but essential for maintaining community harmony.
Avenues We have been Pursuing and Exploring
We've researched other Wisconsin Lakes funding approaches for dredging, including Upper Nemahbin in Summit, Lily Lake in Kenosha, and Waterville Lake in Delafield.
We are looking into Federal, State, and local agencies. A request was filed last summer with the US Army Corps of Engineers and a site plan is scheduled for the Spring.

Ultimately, what funds we cannot get will be equitably distributed to the residents of the area based on their proximity to the lake in the form of a 20-year municipal bond that is paid by taxes over a 20-year period of the bond.
